About the Museum of Science and History
The story of the Museum of Science and History begins in 1941 when it became a children’s museum. The museum moved quite a bit, and it wasn’t until 1983 that the American Alliance of Museums accredited it. In 1988, the museum officially became MOSH (Museum of Science and History)! The celebration began by adding the planetarium and more exhibition galleries, for which the museum needed expansions; classroom and program spaces were added, as well as more storage spaces, many core exhibits, a science theater, and an aquarium. The space science gallery was open, and different areas were added or renovated.
